While Thanksgiving and Black Friday tend to consume November, there’s lots to do throughout the month. Whether you love nature, wine or books, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Cirque Musica: On Nov. 28, be transported to the holiday wonderland in this musical journey of acrobatics and aerialists. Tickets range from $39 - $175.

Louisville Book Festival: Founded in 2018, the Louisville Book Festival celebrates and promotes the love and benefits of reading, writing, and literacy. On Nov. 10 and 11, authors, publishers, and booksellers will be on hand to sign autographs and sell books. The aim of the festival is to provide every child who attends at least one free age-appropriate book.

Louisville Hungry Turkey 5K: Need to burn off a few calories before indulging in Thanksgiving dinner? On Nov. 23, join this 5K run/walk to benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children, while also benefiting yourself.

Throo the Zoo 5K: On Nov. 11, walk or run in the annual 5K “throo” the Louisville Zoo. Don’t forget your costume. Participants with the most creative costume receive a prize.

Historic Louisville Narrated Cruise: Embark on a 2-hour river cruise aboard the Belle of Louisville or Mary M. Miller to learn about the history of the city and how steamboats influenced its early growth.

Other Events

Festival of Faiths: “Celebrate the power of love to cultivate meaningful connections, strengthen communities, and transform lives” at the Festival of Faiths on Nov. 15-18. Spiritual and thought leaders and artists will inspire you to open your heart and mind through poetry, workshops, music, and exhibits.

Festival of Trees & Lights: On Nov. 10-12, walk through a display of decorated trees, wreaths, and greenery donated by various businesses and groups to benefit the Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation. Take a photo with Santa, make some crafts, and enjoy Hanukkah activities with your admission.

Light Up Louisville: Celebrate the start of the Christmas season at Light Up Louisville on Dec. 2. There’ll be a Santa’s workshop with children’s activities, holiday train rides, live music, a holiday market, and of course Santa’s arrival.
