Winter Home Improvements in Louisville Ky

DIY projects to keep you busy during the colder months.

by MIKE HALL, Owner/Agent/Broker

This cold weather keeps most staying cozy indoors. Here are a few do-it-yourself home improvements to keep your home’s value going strong through the winter months.

Give your bathroom a facelift. Re-grout tile, replace the faucet, repaint walls, or even your tub or tile.

Get out the tape measure and head over to Home Depot or Lowe’s to look over their diy kitchen backsplash tiles, stones and metals. A new backsplash will make a big difference in the overall look of your kitchen. While installation is simple, it does take time. A perfect project for a weekend at home, or those last few days off work!

Add some light by updating your light fixtures. Check out second-hand stores for vintage fixtures, or look for new lamps to add to your space. While you’re at it, switch over to LED light bulbs. This will save money on your electricity bills for the new year to come.

Give your crafty side a boost with updating the color of a wall, or interior doors. If feeling adventurous, use tape to create stripes or patterns. Touch up nicks and scrapes, trim and crown molding while you’re at it.Tip: Use waterborne and environmentally-friendly paints which have low fumes since you can’t open the windows.
